Mindfulness in Counseling: For Clinicians in Practice
Mindfulness in Counseling: For Clinicians in Practice
Mindfulness in Counseling for Clinicians in Practice is a collection of meditations designed to accompany the common challenges counselors face while trying to provide effective and quality care to individuals. Whether in private practice, impatient or outpatient, group or individual counseling, or maybe still in training; these meditations are aimed to help counselors practice sitting, not only with clients but also with themselves. This series in particular introduces and guides practices around mindful focusing, dealing with distractions, active listening, developing an observer mind-set, how to use strengths to face barriers of mindfulness, fostering loving-kindness, increasing awareness, self-regulation, and perspective, and provides formal and informal techniques to improve competence in showing up with others. The meditations aim to promote present-moment contact, self-regulation, self-awareness, and active engagement. These recordings are designed to be listened to weekly or as needed and serve to provide information and practice around the role of mindfulness in counseling. Ultimately, we all struggle to sit with others and often time, ourselves. With the counselor and client in mind, this series was created with the hopes of promoting more mindful and effective counseling relationships.
